GR®1Around Ile de France |
|
The GR®1, 542km long, begins at Porte Maillot, and takes you through the forests and the four regional natural parks of the Ile-de-France region: the French Vexin, the Oise, the French Gâtinais and the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse. The path is completely accessible thanks to the flat terrain. There are some passages with a little more elevation, but nothing extravagant. Aside from the segment through Gâtinais, you will always be near a town where you can get supplies. At the end of each stage, you have the choice of spending the night there (in a hotel or in a guest house) or returning to Paris by train (even if in some places you will have to take a bus which will take you drop off at the station or walk a little longer). It’s a great opportunity to (re)discover one of the most beautiful regions of France, sometimes neglected (wrongly) by hikers.
