From Sauviat-sur-Vige (Haute-Vienne) to Lyon (Rhone)

The GR®89, stretching 414 km, begins in Sauviat-sur-Vige in Haute-Vienne and concludes in Lyon, traversing the departments of Creuse, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, and Rhône. This trail offers a journey through diverse landscapes, from the lush hills of Haute-Vienne to the picturesque valleys of Creuse. Along the way, it passes through charming villages like Felletin, renowned for its architectural heritage.
Continuing through Puy-de-Dôme, the path provides breathtaking views of the Auvergne volcanoes and expansive plateaus. The historic city of Clermont-Ferrand is also on the route. As the trail enters the Loire department, it meanders through forests and meadows, with stops in villages like Sail-sous-Couzan, where medieval castles and ancient churches can be admired.
Finally, the trail heads towards the Rhône, crossing vineyards and rolling hills before reaching Lyon, a city rich in historical heritage.
