From Soultz-sous-Forets (Bas-Rhin) to Leymen (Haut-Rhin)

The Vosges Massif, with its rounded hills and dense forests, has always been a crossroads of cultural and commercial exchanges. By following the GR®531, hikers can observe numerous historical remnants, from medieval castles like Lichtenberg to the picturesque churches of the Alsatian villages. Each stage of the hike reveals traces of a rich past, local traditions, and artisanal skills that have made the region famous. The villages crossed, such as Lembach and Niederbronn-les-Bains, reflect a traditional architecture that combines the charm of half-timbered houses with the vibrant colors of the area. In addition, sites like the Vosges du Nord Regional Natural Park add an environmental dimension, preserving biodiversity and cultural heritage.
