Tour in the Grand Pic St-Loup The Peak's Villages (Hérault)

Starting from Les Matelles, a medieval village with cobbled streets, the trail first leads to Murles and its isolated Romanesque church, before reaching Viols-le-Fort, a 15th-century fortified town encircled by well-preserved ramparts. Heading towards Saint-Martin-de-Londres, the landscape opens onto an arid plain where one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Languedoc stands. The ascent to Cazevieille, at the foot of Pic Saint-Loup, offers a striking contrast between the white limestone cliffs and the deep green of the holm oaks. Wild nature, marked by the scent of thyme and rosemary, dominates this land of pastoralism and renowned vineyards. The route finally descends to Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers, dominated by the majestic silhouette of Montferrand Castle perched on the ridge.
