GR®69 La Routo

From Arles (Bouches-du-Rhône) to Ruburent Pass (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence)

Français

The GR®69, spanning 404 kilometres, follows the historical traces of transhumance. Departing from Arles, the trail crosses the Crau plain, a vast expanse of dry grasslands, before entering the Var department via Salon-de-Provence and Aix-en-Provence, where hikers can discover Provençal architecture. As the path enters the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the landscape transforms dramatically, with lavender fields giving way to alpine meadows. The trail crosses wild and sparsely populated mountain territory before reaching its end point at the Ruburent Pass. Throughout the route, hikers encounter the heritage of generations of shepherds who drove their flocks between the Camargue and the high mountain pastures each summer.
