From Boussac (Creuse) to Montcombroux-les-Mines (Allier)

The town of Boussac is famous for its 15th-century medieval castle, whose towers and ramparts tell the story of the lords who once ruled the area. The Bourbonnais is a French region located primarily in the Allier department, though it also extends into parts of the Creuse and Puy-de-Dôme. This region is the cradle of the Bourbon dynasty, one of France's most famous royal families. The name Bourbon is associated with influential kings, queens, and historical figures. The region has also been shaped by significant historical events, such as the Wars of Religion, in which the Bourbons played key roles. The commune of Souvigny, with its abbey, testifies to the close ties between the local nobility and the Church, and it remains an important pilgrimage site.
