The GR®71C, known as the Templar and Hospitaller Path, is an 83 km loop starting from La Cavalerie in the Aveyron department. This trail explores the heart of the Larzac plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its preserved agro-pastoral landscapes and medieval history. Hikers will discover the fortified villages of Sainte-Eulalie-de-Cernon, La Couvertoirade, and Saint-Jean-d'Alcas, bearing witness to the legacy of the Knights Templar and Hospitaller. The route meanders through open steppes, rocky outcrops, and valleys, showcasing a unique biodiversity adapted to the dry, limestone environment. It is an unforgettable journey through time and nature in the breathtaking scenery of the Grands Causses.
