Starting in Auch and its majestic cathedral, this loop through the heart of the Gers region offers an immersion in the gentle hills of Gascony. The trail winds through a landscape of golden valleys, Armagnac vineyards, and sunflower fields, leading to the listed village of Lavardens and its imposing castle. Passing through Castéra-Verduzan and Valence-sur-Baïse, hikers discover an exceptional medieval heritage, marked by Flaran Abbey and charming fortified towns. In Condom and Lectoure, former episcopal cities on the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela, history is etched in the golden stone and the ramparts overlooking the valley. The route traverses a lush natural landscape where the biodiversity of hedgerows and groves provides refuge for protected wildlife.
